The mechanism of bioresorption of the Polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres is defined by two predictable and controlled phases. During the initial phase, the PCL chain-length is reduced by chain scission, but is not yet resorbed.
This accounts for the Immediate and Sustained Performance, which is unique to Ellansé.
Only during the second phase, after the desired longevity has been obtained, the PCL chains are totally bioresorbed and excreted through normal metabolic pathways as water and CO2.
